Born in Tibet, raised in Nepal, and settled in Berkeley for 25 years, I am Tenzing Jigme. In 2001, I began my journey at the Ashby Flea Weekend Market, which blossomed into Tenzing Collections—supporting artisans and celebrating cultural heritage. In 2008, I opened my shop in San Anselmo, knowing my success would help my family in Nepal. Through my work, I also support impoverished Himalayan artisans, providing them with fair wages and opportunities to improve their livelihoods, ensuring their families thrive. Each item I showcase tells a story of collaboration, craftsmanship, and community upliftment. For 25 years, Berkeley has been home to my journey of resilience, from the mountains of Tibet to the streets of California.
